Help Us Save the Lives of Six Black Bears
Posted on June 1, 2014 by adminDear Rock to the Rescue supporters,
I write to you with important, urgent news of an animal rescue that we have been facilitating this week. When I heard that six black bears in my home state of New York were to be killed next week, I knew that we had to act quickly to mobilize Rock to the Rescue’s networks of compassionate animal advocates to save the lives of these animals. Sadly, these six beautiful young bears have been held captive as “pets” in a backyard, and there is a court order to remove the bears from the property by June 5. Without a sanctuary to rescue them, they will be killed this week.
Miraculously, Rock to the Rescue partner The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado has stepped up and offered to give these bears the safe home they deserve. Situated on over 700 acres, The Wild Animal Sanctuary will offer the bears large acreage habitats where they can roam freely and live as wild as can be. Styx and the whole Rock to the Rescue team are thrilled to be able to take these bears from life on death row behind bars to a beautiful, safe sanctuary.
We are working together to facilitate the rescue, cross-country transport, and veterinary treatment of these wonderful creatures. This is where you come in:
We need your help.
Please donate to help these animals. Every dollar raised this week will go directly to helping us rescue these six black bears. Without your support, we will not have the capacity to send the experts, vets, and rescue vehicles to NY to save their lives. Can you help us?
From Tommy, Hannah, and the rest of the gang, thank you for standing up, time and time again, for what is right. Rock to the Rescue is about transforming the world through the compassionate action of individuals, and we are so grateful for the role that each person plays. Thank you.

Special thanks to Generation Awakening, Lions Tigers and Bears Sanctuary, Outreach for Animals, and The Wild Animal Sanctuary for partnering with us to save these animals.
With compassion and appreciation,
Hannah Shaw
